Summer 2020

COVID-19 UPDATE

Hello Members and interested parties

As of March 13, 2020, the training center is not available for lessons, groups, or teams until the government mandated shut down is lifted.  As of the updating of this web page, we have that date set as of April 30, 2020.

Special Note:  USSSA has suspended play until further notice.  I spoke to the SE Michigan Director who said they cannot do anything until the Governor lifts the band and then the city/county opens their fields.  There are layers of decisions that need to be approved before our season will begin.

NOBF - They have asked for games in April to be rescheduled for a later date.  We are waiting for further decisions to be made.

WE CAN DO THIS!!!  Hang in there.

See you soon.

Any further questions, please contact Nick Swanson: nick.swanson@miredsox.com -- or at 248-872-5632

Michigan Connect Athletics

Who are we?

As travel organizations everywhere, place an increased emphasis on off-season player development, we – at Michigan Connect Athletics – are in the business of reaching higher, maximizing the benefits of that process and tapping into the very best our players’ have to offer.

Since 2007, we’ve had 9 players go on to be drafted by Major League Baseball, and sent hundreds of kids to play collegiately.  As leaders in player development, we emphasize the importance of preparing both the mind and body off the field – so players are ready to succeed on the field.  And our staff understands that being prepared doesn’t just happen because we want it to. So, we supply all our guys with the premier instruction, equipment, programs and knowledge they’ll need to achieve their goals – and take their skills to new heights:

  • 24/7 access to our 20,000 sq. ft. facility,
  • Discounted rates to join our Prime Time Velocity and Hitting programs – the crown jewel of player development in Michigan
  • Professional instruction and coaches – including the only Driveline certified instructor in Michigan
  • Equipment, drills and instruction from Baseball Rebellion, Driveline Baseball and Baseball Think Tank
  • TRAQ Software – used to create individualized off-season throwing and workout programs, designed to increase strength, flexibility and mobility
  • Motor City Power Fall Baseball Program and Royal Oak Leprechauns Collegiate Program
  • Brand new all-turf field in Royal Oak, MI – home of the Leprechauns (construction breaks ground – August 2020)

Home Base Volunteering Program

The Michigan Red Sox are proud to partner with local businesses in the community as well as residents to help them help our organization.  The program is simple... you need help?  We'll volunteer to help you and all that we ask is a simple donation to The Michigan Red Sox.  It's a win-win-win!  Businesses/Residents make donations, get free work done, and our members learn the importance of volunteering in the community.  See attached for more details.

Our History

The Michigan Red Sox Baseball organization was founded in 1999 out of Birmingham, MI -- with a primary focus on the development of each player.  Our player development programs incorporated the experience of our entire coaching staff, as well as the most advanced teaching methods developed nationally -- courtesy of Doyle Baseball Academy, based out of Winter Haven, Florida.

Since then, the Sox organization has grown from a single team into numerous ranging from ages 9u-22u.  Our Motor City Power Fall Baseball Program developed as we welcomed players from outside travel organizations across the state of Michigan -- competing in the Fall through the Midwest... and beyond.

Through our sustained standard of excellence and success, we moved our collegiate team -- the Royal Oak Leprechauns -- into the prestigious Great Lakes Collegiate Baseball League.  And as of September 3, 2019 -- construction has broke ground on a brand new, all-turf field, located in Royal Oak, MI -- home to our very own Leprechauns.
